Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons one who was able to seamlessly transition from country to the mainstream becoming an enduring celebrity and then conquering all over the world at the same time. Swift left her country roots as though they were part of her skin revealing that she was possibly the most savvy pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. Swift's early songs, including her neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. The album from 2008 Fearless showcased a writer who was re-discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. Fearless became an enormous success not just in America with it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to record six platinum albums but also around the world. The album was particularly successful in Canada, Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago was a continuation of her earlier successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. Even though she had slowed her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was still leading the way in pop music.
